Top 10 Disney Activities That Aren’t Rides

“I don’t know about going to Disney, I’m not really a ride person”

This was a direct quote from one of my clients a few weeks ago when I was talking with her about taking her family to Disney. Everyone seemed excited except her. Now, I can completely understand not being a “ride” person, I have my limits too! BUT there so so much to do in Disney that isn’t rides! Have you ever done any of these on your trips??

  1. Live Entertainment/Shows- At almost every park there is a show. Some parks, like Hollywood Studios, have shows constantly running all day. Never a dull moment singing along with Elsa or experiencing the love from Beauty and the Beast! Magic Kingdom has shows at the castle, even with fireworks! And Animal Kingdom has the Festival of the Lion King (and hopefully Finding Nemo once the show returns)

  2. Shopping. There is NO WAY you can go to Disney and not shop! At least not in our experience. We are annual pass holders and despite the fact that we go regularly, we can’t resist the urge to walk around the shops at least once while we are there.

  3. All the Food!! Disney is constantly changing its fun snacks and treats to go along with whatever holiday or festival is currently being celebrated. I truly believe no one does snacks like Disney!! Even if you don’t have reservations for an elaborate dining experience, even the snack carts will fill you up!

4. Characters- they are back! Beginning April of 2022 the character meet and greets are back in full swing…no more distancing! If you are traveling with kids, or even if you are just a kid at heart, characters are a MUST on any Disney trip. Be sure to check the times in your app to make sure you don’t miss anyone!

5. Have a Photo shoot- whether you purchase a Capture the Moment package through Disney or you are taking your own photos, it is always fun to find the most Instagram-able locations throughout the parks

6. Visit the Barber Shop on Main Street USA for a hair cut (bet you didn’t know they did that did you?)

7. Take the family for a round of golf- Disney has 2 mini-golf courses on property. One is Winter Summerland outside of Blizzard Beach Water Park and the other is the Fantasia Golf Course (if you are a DVC member , and sometimes as part of your magical extras, you can get a discount)

8. Find a shady spot and settle in for the parade- also recently returning to parks are the daily parades. These are so much fun to watch and its a great way to see all your favorite characters all in one place. But be warned, you need to grab a spot about 30 minutes (at least, if not more) beforehand if you want a good viewing location

9. If you are a music fan, Disney has Live music all around the parks. The Dapper Dans hang out on Main Street performing a variety of songs, and the Bollywood Beat do the same in Hollywood Studios

10. Find all the Hidden Mickeys! Disney was so sneaky they placed hidden Mickey’s everywhere! I believe there is even a book about them and where to find them all. One a recent trip to Magic Kingdom we were able to locate one the the HARDEST Mickey’s to find :-) It was so much fun!

So, even if you are not a “ride” person…there is still a TON of things to enjoy while visiting Walt Disney World!
