5 Reasons We LOVED Loew’s Royal Pacific Resort

A couple weeks ago, my husband and I had the chance to relax for a bit at Universal Orlando for our anniversary. We stayed at Loew’s Royal Pacific Resort, one of Universal’s premier resorts and it was GREAT!

First, there are AWESOME benefits to staying at a Universal Orlando Resort!  As a Universal resort guest, you gain early entry into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (varies by day which park has early hours) and Volcano Bay Water Park. We took advantage of this and were able to be the 2nd group in line for Ollivanders Wand Shop, it was nice not to have to join a virtual cue and plan our day around that upcoming appointment.  When I traveled to Universal in November, we took advantage of the early hours at Island of Adventure to get on Hagrid’s Motorbike before the majority of the crowds arrived. All resorts also offer complimentary transportation.  As with Disney, the premier resorts have some extra options for transportation, like the water taxi and even walking paths directly to City Walk, but all Universal resorts offer bus transportation to the parks. When you stay at Royal Pacific (or any of the Universal Premier resorts) they include an unlimited express pass with your stay.  This is a BIG DEAL because the express pass allows you to skip the regular standby lines at almost all of the attractions with the exception of Hagrid’s Magical Motorbike and Velocicoaster! You also receive priority seating at many of the restaurants and the luxury of having your purchases delivered to your room instead of carrying them around all day.

The second reason we loved this resort was the chill vibe.  It is so relaxing throughout the resort.  We were able to head to hte parks in the morning and return to the resort for some pool time in the afternoon. We don't often get to enjoy the resort pools so we made it a priority to spend some time there on this trip.  We came back from the park around 1pm and grabbed a cocktail at the pool to get some sun.  We were able to use mobile order and our drinks were brought over to us...definitely a fan of mobile orders! If it’s not something you have tried before, I highly suggest it!

As I mentioned earlier, Royal Pacific is within walking distance to City Walk. The walking path is beautiful with lots of plants and in the morning before the heat crushes the day, the walk is very pleasant. We made it from the resort in about 10 minutes...great opportunity to drink my coffee on the way to the park :-) If you aren’t a fan of walking, there is also the water taxi available at the premier resorts. Also a really quick ride (maybe 5-10 minutes at the most) you get dropped off right outside the NBC Sports Grill close to both park entrances. The day we chose to head to Volcano Bay we were able to take the bus. Again, only about a 10 minute ride and we were there. It’s great to have so many options for transportation because nothing seems to get very crowded at one time.

We are food people (well, at least I am) and I love trying new foods. While we were at the pool we saw so many yummy looking meals, although I am sad we didn't get to try any of them.  We did however sample some drinks at the pool bar- Bula, both drinks were PERFECT and hit the spot on the hot afternoon!  In addition to the pool bar, there are 4 restaurants on site at the resort serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the location, and each offering a different type of cuisine.

Last, and possibly most important, we LOVED our room! We stayed in a water view king room and we actually had an amazing view of the parks as well (We got to watch Velocicoaster and Hulk from our window). The rooms are very spacious, the bed felt larger and there was plenty of storage space. There are several room options at this resort including the standard view, water view, and theme park view options (cost varies).
